THE ASSOCIATION OF
198 SQUADRON RAF PILOTS & GROUND CREWS

Between late 2001 and mid 2009 this website was the on-line presence of the "Association of 198 Squadron RAF Pilots & Ground Crews" but even at the time of its original set-up veterans knew the "Association's" life span would be limited due to the advancing years of its members. However, during this time it did build up an extensive and large archived collection of memorabilia and first hand recollections regarding the Squadron.

Sadly, by the early months of 2009 most of the Association's veterans had passed away and with the death of its founder, Arthur Bryant, and several other Squadron veterans around the middle of that year, it was subsequently decided to close it and transfer all of the Association's archives to "198 Archives" in Carmarthenshire, Wales, for preservation and safe keeping.

Over the years "Association" members had done so much to keep alive the memory of 198 Squadron RAF, and those who had served with it, that it seemed a shame to let them completely disappear from public view. It was with this in mind that it has been arranged with some of the last surviving Squadron veterans to continue publishing this website.
