IN DEPTH

During 2006 Robert Taylor and his wife, Elizabeth, from Scotland, were on a campervan holiday in France. Their travels took them to the Somme Valley and the small town of Poix de Picardie and it was here while visiting the local historical church that they came across the grave of Flying Officer James A. MacDonald RCAF who had been killed while serving with 198 Squadron RAF on the 7th February 1944.

Although in no way related to F/O MacDonald, but somewhat intrigued by this Canadian with a Scottish sounding name, the Taylors set out to find as much as they could about this young man who have given his life in the cause of freedom.

The following pages contain some of the results from Robert's and Elizabeth's 18 months of researches and enquiries. The "Association" is most grateful to them for sending the information.
