NOTES
This "Notes" section of the website covers pieces of information that are an addition to content elsewhere. From loss reports to eye witness accounts, and the Typhoon Memorial at Noyers Bocage, France. Many of the items are unique like the fact that 198 was still flying as a squadron three days after it is said to have been officially disbanded and could have continued to do so for another month.
The world wide search for further surviving veterans carried out in 2005 to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Squadron's disbandment, and end of World War 2, is also covered as is the rather sad list of those veterans who have in recent years passed away. And finally a short history of the Hawker Typhoon and a certain RB222 - TP.F, an aircraft serial number that never flew with 198 but its surprising how many people think it did.
