HISTORY

These "History" pages give an outline of the Squadron's history from its beginnings as a night flying training squadron in World War 1 up to its disbandment and final flight to Lasham in Hampshire, England, after World War 2 in September 1945.

Also included are a list of the Hawker Typhoons, and two Tiger Moths, known to have been damaged or destroyed while in service with the Squadron and a "Remembered" page containing the names of all those who lost their lives while serving with 198.

The service history of 198's Hawker Typhoon MP115, "Stella V" is also covered as is a rare glimpse of "Squadron Life" during 1944.
